Advocacy letter submitted to Mr. Glucksmann, Vice-Chairman of the Sub-Commission on Human Rights of the European Parliament. Following an exploratory mission conducted in the Comoros Islands in the course of Summer 2018, Planète Réfugiés-Droits de l'Homme has garnered first-hand information on the state of justice and prisons in the Comoros Islands. This information was instrumental in order to write an official letter addressed to the Vice-Chairman of the Human Rights Sub-Committee of the European Parliament, in order to shed light on the issue of justice and prisons in the country, requesting the European Commission to act by implementing concrete mitigation measures.

Planète Réfugiés-Droits de l'Homme has officially addressed a request to M. Mansour Kamardine, National Assembly representative and Chairman of the Comoros Islands-France Friendship group at the French National Assembly, regarding the absence of the French support in the sector of justice and prisons in the Comoros Islands, in a view to introduce a Parliamentary question in the course of the second semester of 2019.

Planète Réfugiés-Droits de l'Homme will develop, following the fact finding mission on assessment of training/capacity building needs carried out in Moroni on October 2017, training programmes towards Comoran civil society organisations. Areas of expertise to be further developed will be agreed upon together with Comoran partners.
